We are a group of animal-loving volunteers who are passionate about animal rescue and have worked together across various rescue projects in Hong Kong. After many years of hard work and dedication, we finally have a ‘home’ to call our own.
We value collaboration – whether it is with our volunteers, fosters, sponsors, vet partners or core team, as we believe unity is needed to achieve great results. Together, we work to keep our companion animals safe and in permanent homes.
Jen is the founder of Paws United Charity (PUC), a pioneering organization transforming animal rescue and welfare in Hong Kong.
Her journey began in childhood, driven by a deep love for animals and the heartbreaking reality she witnessed growing up in the 1990s, strays suffering from neglect, abuse, and traffic accidents. This early experience inspired a lifelong mission to help animals in need.
With nearly two decades of hands-on rescue experience, Jen first focused on Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) programs in rural areas, rehoming strays and connecting with a growing network of like-minded advocates.
Disturbed by the poor conditions in local shelters, she envisioned a modern sanctuary where animals could recover in comfort and dignity.
In 2018, Jen turned that vision into reality by founding PUC. Her goal was to build a clean, sustainable, and welcoming halfway home for homeless pets. Today, PUC stands as a model of compassionate innovation in the rescue community, combining sustainability, comfort, and care.
Jen’s unwavering dedication and forward-thinking leadership continue to inspire a new generation of animal advocates, proving that every pet deserves not just shelter, but a life filled with love and respect.
Our mission is to improve the lives of animals in our community by promoting responsible pet ownership, humane treatment of animals and choosing adoption instead of purchase.
We rescue animals from various channels, including Government kennels, families who can no longer keep their pets, breeders who no longer want the animals, abandoned animals on the streets and born strays.
We provide medical treatment for all rescue animals, including costly surgical procedures, vaccinations, as well as de-flea and de-sex procedures. We make sure the animals are placed in foster homes that offer a safe and welcoming environment to rehabilitate them mentally and physically.
Re-home: Our end-goal is to successfully find forever homes for all of the animals that we rescue. Our volunteers carefully screen and guide interested parties through the adoption process so that both adopting families and animals can go home happy.
We won’t be where we are without help from the community!

Fostering for PUC provides a loving, temporary home for pets in need until they can find their forever families.
By becoming a foster caregiver, you’re not only helping to alleviate the burden on the charity, but also giving animals a nurturing environment to thrive in.
Your support allows PUC to focus on rescues and adoptions while ensuring that each pet receives the individual care and attention they deserve. Join us in making a difference in the lives of these animals and help them transition to their new homes with love and comfort.
Volunteering at PUC means that every donation received goes directly towards the care and medical needs of our animals. All of our volunteers share a passion for helping pets in need; everyone here is motivated by their love for animals and the desire to make a positive impact. It’s not just a job, it’s a fulfilling experience surrounded by like-minded individuals who care deeply about animal welfare.
By working together, we create a larger community of animal advocates, enhancing our ability to rescue, rehabilitate, and ultimately find loving homes for more animals.
Fundraising for PUC is crucial in supporting our mission to rescue and care for animals in need. These funds enable us to cover essential expenses such as medical treatments, food, shelter, and rehabilitation for rescued pets.
Moreover, fundraising helps us maintain our facilities and expand our outreach efforts, allowing us to reach more animals and provide them with the love and care they deserve. Every dollar raised not only enhances the quality of life for the animals currently in our care but also supports educational programs and community initiatives that promote responsible pet ownership and animal welfare awareness.
Partnerships, brand collaborations, and corporate support are vital for PUC as they enhance our mission to rescue and care for animals in need. These relationships provide essential funding, increase awareness, and expand our reach, attracting more donors and adopters. They also offer valuable expertise and create engagement opportunities through employee volunteering initiatives, fostering a culture of giving back. Long-term partnerships ensure the sustainability of our programs, allowing us to plan for the future.
By working together, we create a larger community of animal advocates, enhancing our ability to rescue, rehabilitate, and ultimately find loving homes for more animals.
If you would like to be a part of our mission, whether through fostering, volunteering, fundraising, or sponsorship, please contact us and join us in bringing hope and change to animals in need!
